Business Requirements for Campus Map — University of Ottawa
The University of Ottawa’s bilingual online campus map is a critical online tool for the University. When the map tool was launched in 2007,it was considered to be a leading edge example, with features such as “track warmest route during winter” receiving acclaim. Since 2007, there have been significant changes to accessibility legislation, the physical landscape of the campus and how users interact with online maps. As a result, the university launched a project to redesign the campus maps and engaged Re-Think to develop the business requirements and proposed functionality for the renewed online campus maps. This involved conducting comparative research on other campus maps, reviewing the existing campus maps at the University of Ottawa, interviewing stakeholders, and holding a facilitated prioritization session. The deliverables included a research findings report and a business requirements document.
